I'M BAILEY SMITHI’m a mama to two sweet boys, wife to mr. incredible and yoga and meditation teacher (e-RYT). I'm a conscious consumer and a practitioner of the HEART work. I’m a big dreamer, an observer and an extroverted introvert.
I LOVE: coffee, dark chocolate, thunderstorms, the moon, hiking the mountain trail, being barefoot and the smell of fall. Read on for the rest! |
I knew I always wanted to be an entrepreneur in some fashion, but I didn’t know exactly how! I followed a traditional path where I grew up in Ohio. I went off to college after high school in the ‘burbs and decided to pursue fashion merchandising as my major - it filled my visual and artistic needs and I’ve always been inspired by the movers and shakers of the industry. Post college, I worked as a visual merchandiser in a few retail locations, worked my way into the corporate fashion world and then landed my DREAM corporate buying job with LBrands (Bath & Body Works) in 2010. I was stoked! I grew up in Columbus admiring Les Wexner and the EMPIRE he had built. To me, this was the next best thing to moving to NYC and working directly with a designer.
It wasn’t soon after, though, that something still was feeling unaligned. My heart slowly started to pull away. What I know now is that there were a lot of layers beneath my surface that needed addressed and yoga had begun to draw this out, in the beginning, because I was paying more attention to myself as a collective. I decided to follow what was inside and enrolled in my first yoga teacher training. My fiancé (now husband) and I then had an incredible opportunity to move to Denver, CO, so we took the leap! After a few moves, I landed with Chipotle’s home office. It was a great change and shift, at the time! They stand for good quality, high standards and had a major emphasis on people, which I admire greatly. I met an incredible group of people, some very close friends and felt at home. After getting pregnant with our first son, I was learning that the transition to motherhood certainly didn't come natural to me and I decided to step away from working full time to stay home with him and to continue on my passion of teaching yoga.

Flashback to 2009 - I discovered yoga while living in Baltimore, and was immediately drawn into the practice. I was in my early 20s and looking for something new, while working in the fast-paced fashion industry and feeling disconnected from myself. Yoga felt like a new relationship with my mind, body and soul. I now realize that I may have taken my first conscious breath in that first yoga class - and THAT is why I kept going back. After a few years of practicing, I knew this practice was powerful. It was changing me and the way I showed up in this world, so I decided to study to become a teacher. I completed my first teacher training in 2012 with Kindness Yoga’s Patrick Harrington and stepped into teaching as a way to share this ancient practice with others and to open doors for them to also experience change. I later became certified in Prenatal, Kids and Yin yoga and currently teach Vinyasa, Meditation and Alignment-Based practices.
My practice has also opened me up to being incredible conscious about my body, what I put in it and on it, which is what got me into becoming a health and wellness advocate. I work with essential oils and advocate for safer beauty and personal care products. I'm a self-proclaimed conscious consumer, because what we expose ourselves to matters.
I strongly believe in the power of yoga and meditation to support the constant ebb and flow of life. I convey this belief through my teaching and it lights me up when people can feel a greater connection to themselves. I look forward to connecting more and am so grateful you're here.
